I just want to update you all on what I have been doing. The summer has been going extremely well for me...singing, planning for the future a bit, and just trying to relax and enjoy life and the great friends that I have! I would like to start off by saying again that Manitowoc, WI feels like my second home...the people in this city are so extremely genuine and welcoming...I truly appreciate all their support! I have been attending the Lakeshore's Rising Stars Shows- Season 2 (this is the competition I took part in last summer) and I have been enjoying the shows very much so...you should definitely check out one of their shows! Exciting news for the night- I travelled to Marquette, MI today for the first round of the COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN competition (more information- see June 18th's post below). Like always, I wasn't quite sure about what I was getting myself into, but it's always interesting to participate in any competition...u never know. Anyways, I competed against 12 other contestants and I am excited to share with you that I was the one person chosen to advance in the competition. I was a bit surprised because there was some good competition today, but everything happens for a reason. I will advance and be competing at the state level on August 17th and from there one person will be chosen to represent the state (I am competing in the U.P. MI division) at the regional level, which will take place in West Virginia. Like always, I am happy to have made it this far and whatever happens, happens...if it's meant to happen to me, it will...if not, it wasn't my path. I will keep you all updated.
