I also want to share with all of you a few more details on the vocal competition that I am currently involved in. You can find more information about this competition in prior posts, but I just want to add that I have received information about the state level part of the competition. On August 17th, my family (God bless them) and I will travelling to Lac Du Flambeau, WI, where I will be taking the stage with six other contestants and compete for a $1,000.00 and the chance to progress to the Regional Finals, which for my division will be held in West Virginia. I have received information in the mail and have been in contact with the "house band" in preparation for the competition on August 17th. The competition hires a band that plays for each act, which is exciting...It's always great to escape the "karaoke style"...there is just so much more you can do with a band over CD tracks. So yea, I spoke with the band today and they seem really nice and talented...I'm excited! Whatever happens, happens! All 7 of us finalists have to report to the competition location by 2pm for a meeting/rehearsal with the band, with the show set to begin at 8pm.
