Another Competition

Here I go again...

Today I entered another competition. I have been debating entering this one for quite some time now and after much deliberation, I have called the radio station and entered. The reason for my deliberation was due to timing issues. In order for this to make any sense, I will try and explain what this competition is...It's call "The Colgate Country Showdown" and it's a nationwide Country Music talent search. Yes, country music! Anyways...I am still a bit confused about how the thing works so I am just taking it one step at a time. Each state has different participating radio stations that hold a small competition...from there they choose one person to move onto the state competition...so each state has either a state fair or some other event that will host the state comp. part of this...from there, they will choose one person who will represent the state (i believe...again, I could have misunderstood and be wrong)...then, from there, I am lost as to what happens...lol...All I know is that there are a couple more steps and the finals are huge! I mean, huge! I guess this competition is heading into it's 26th year and has had hosts such as Leann Rimes, Reba McEntire, etc. Yea, that would be pretty awesome! On top of all that, the top prize is $100,000!!! Yea...there are also smaller prizes along the way. So that is what I have as of know...that is what I have been able to comprehend...If I were to advance in this comp. I would def. look into it more and fill you all in....but, until then, I am just going to close my eyes and see what happens.

I was almost not going to do this competition because the dates that were available for me to qualify in the WI region did not work with my schedule...so I left it and said...well, it wasn't meant to be...wrong. A little later, I went back and checked into the Michigan region...and again, the dates just didn't work...wasn't mean to be? Wrong again. Finally, I went to search what was available in the U.P. division and guess what? The dates work! Yay! I just feel drawn to this competition...it could be the money (lol) or it could be instinct or it could be the fact that I can never let anything pass me up...either way, I am entered and whatever happens, happens...life is a ride full of adventures, detours, and wrong turns...if this is anything but an adventure for me, then I will learn and take from it. Nothing is never a waste in life. So...on July 6th I will be travelling to Marquette, MI in hopes of qualifying for the state round! Again, if it's meant to be, it will happen...if not, something else will come!:)
